About this deal

So, I have been told we get “ Warcry Scenery” with this issue But there is a lot of Warcry Scenery on offer – Thankfully Forbidden Planet has released the cover art. The Sigmarite Mausoleum Terrain Set contains two terrain boxes in one that can make two individual assemblies or one large one. If this terrain reminds you of the Garden Of Morr then you would be correct, and it is literally two of those iconic kits. At last, this glorious fella wielding hammers and magic. An absolute bargain of a price. Buy 2 of this guy. buy 4, buy 10! You can’t field more than one but you can paint as many as you like. Step 5. Come to the realisation that you’ve managed to miss an entire sprue, throw your hands in the air and take a long hard look at yourself.

Looking at this my initial reaction is hoped that this isn’t quite the full collection (or I don’t math so good). The savings here don’t appear to be anywhere near as great as what was given with Warhammer Conquest, even before we include paints. This is not a mistake I made, but until you’re done painting do not glue the buildings or any inconvenient bits, such as the main gates or sarcophagus covers you intend to leave half open. Step 1: Mottled Stonework The set includes six mausoleums; classic examples of gothic tombs, two statues of Morr and a series of walls and gates that surrounds them. These walls are of course studded with many, many skulls of the unfortunate, along with their wrought ironwork and mossy stones… While they can be set up together, they also work well as individual terrain pieces that can be set up across the battlefield, perfect for Skirmish games.

So does this really mean, that I cannot chose to place models between the parts of the scenery piece, without choosing to garrison the scenery? Its a fairly large set, and so would be nice (and also cool) to have your death models move around within/ on either side of the walls/fence of the scenery piece? When looking at the sprues for these models it’s quite hard to understand how this would be spread over 80 issues as there simply aren’t that many sprues. So. before we jump into the costs, please note there are some models we haven’t confirmed yet and some others which aren’t 100% clear. But as an initial value estimate, it should do until we have something clearer. Final component is a total of 36 terrain setup cards. What is interesting is that some of the cards have you using the terrain from the box game along with this set. This was a surprise as I was expecting the cards to just use this set alone. This may be an issue if you skipped the box set, but if you didn’t it really adds some variety to game setup and the walls offered in this set offer some very interesting terrain options. The board is perhaps the best part of this set. The unique side is a well detailed snow landscape. If you play Kill Team I think this set would be perfect for doing futuristic combat on a crypt-world of the far distant grim future.Thank you all. Frozen, do you think 1 piece, of some form of terrain, per 1'x1' would be excessive?

NOTE TO NON AIRBRUSH HAVERS: To replicate this without an airbrush, take a cheap craft brush, get a little bit more paint on it than you would drybrush, and stipple the mottling patterns onto the stone. Expect this to take longer than using an airbrush, and destroy your craft brush. A bit of messiness doesn’t matter all that much, as the wash and drybrush afterwards will cover up myriad sins. Step 2: Railings

What a nightmare this was to work out! I was on the Phone with Kevin from The Hobby Corner to try and figure out where these parts are still available. The detail given by Hachette says “2 Crypt Frames” – Unlike issue 11 where we have seen the cover, this could be the same again or it could be 2 of the series which has the walls and gating from the Sigmarite mausoleum set.

I would go the same direction, if it should be a single terrain piece (using the Scroll) instead of "filling the table with pieces of the Mausoleum" It seems very restrictive, if you either have to move all the way around it, or garrison it. Can any clear this up for me? I LOVE the roses on this model. They really tie everything together, and doing them was one of my favorite parts. I painted the leaves first with VGA Goblin Green then painted the roses themselves with VMC Flat Red. Then I washed both the leaves and flowers with Nuln oil. STEP 0 ALERT: I made things a lot harder than I had to with these. Airbrushing a fade, then masking off before doing the stonework would have been far, far easier, and I recommend you do the same.Whilst the retail set comes with 10 Harridans on 2 identical sprues, this issue comes with only 1 sprue. The value below is 1/2 the RRP for the set With the end nearing I wonder if we will see anymore colours. with the arrival of Stormshield to essentially varnish your models, this indicates we have seen the last of the paint issues. (I doubt this will be enough stormshield for the whole though!)
