Vanilla bean powder is typically made from fresh vanilla beans, but I like to use my beans to make a few batches of vanilla extract, before I grind them into vanilla powder. It’s just my way of squeezing more value out of each bean. I have been experimenting with vanilla lately and have made various recipes, from vanilla syrup and liqueur to vanilla butter. This vanilla paste is far more intense than any other product I created. Tahitian vanilla beans are more fruity and floral in flavor. Tahiti vanilla beans are best suited for coffees, ice creams, custards, and drinks. Tahiti vanilla beans are distinctly different from other country’s beans because the growing conditions there make the beans very plump. Technically speaking the Tahiti vanilla orchids are a different version than other vanilla orchids because the growing conditions have made the plant different and its own variety of vanilla orchid.
