About this deal
Again, these are issues that are somewhat specific to my setup, but if you have visions of the Tri-Screen plus an extra monitor and a ton of accessories, you’re going to want to make sure you have a powered hub with plenty of USB ports! Make sure that you have BOTH a video AND power feed going to each screen. Unless your laptop has a USB-C with Display port or a Thunderbolt 3 port you will need to use 2 cables per screen to it to function. (1 HDMI video cable and 1 USB-C cable power) I’ve been testing out the Xebec Tri Screen 2 for the last few months. It’s an innovative new piece of technology and here is my honest review!
The only problem with this design was each time I moved, I had to take all the cables out. This can get a bit tedious, but it’s a lot better than carrying an extra monitor around. I also didn’t have anywhere to put them. It meant they would have to sit free in my bag, which wasn’t ideal.Surface Laptop 3, 4 & 5:These models simply require a Tri-Screen Adapterto provide video to one of the screens. The rest of the connections work with the model's native ports. For example, if your laptop has a USB‑C with DisplayPort output (as shown below), then you will only need to use a single cable going from this port in your laptop to the USB Type-C (video & power) input on the Tri-Screen to provide both power and video. As someone who is relatively new to working from home full-time, I was super excited to test out the Xebec Tri Screen 2! Select the box representing the screen with the washed out color. This box should have a ‘2’ or ‘3’ inside of it
Surface Book 1:This model has 2x USB-A and 1 mini-DP. You will need to use 2 of our Tri-Screen Adaptersfor this set-up. One adapter per screen connection! Screen size: 15.6-inch | Screen type: IPS | Resolution: 3,840 x 2,160 pixels | Ports: USB Type-C, Mini HDMI | Weight: 1.4 pounds | Dimensions: 14 x 8.7 x 0.4 inches | Speakers: Dual stereoNow that you know which ports your laptop has you can determine what cable(s) you need to connect each screen. Remember that each screen requires both a video and power feed to function. If you’re mainly traveling on land, then you won’t have bags with a weight limit and it’s easier to find a table to work on. In that case, you should have no problem taking the Xebec Tri Screen 2 around with you.
All in all, while the Tri-Screen is compatiblewith the Surface Pro, we find it is best enjoyed on a traditional style laptop vs. tablets.I don’t use it on the plane because the tray tables are too small and the two screens would impede on my neighbor’s space. (Obviously I fly economy – you wouldn’t have these problems in first class!)
