About this deal

Camden has endured so much cruelty at the hands of others that by the time he meets Olivia he is unable to feel. Trusting anyone is not an issue because he knows that everyone takes what they want from him and then eventually leave him with nothing. Okay, first off, when I started this book and was 15% in within 15 minutes maybe... I felt like I Could. Not. Breathe. In Camden Walker: Apartment 8C Aly Stiles goes the extra emotional mile visiting places that many avoid or turn a blind eye too. Never discount the vision of this writer or the depth of her sensitivity. To find that one special person who sees beyond the outside facade that we all wear is special and Ms. Stiles shows that in this story as Olivia recognizes the beauty of Camden beyond the superficial. In turn Camden unleashed the beauty that Olivia kept hidden, protecting herself from the censure of the world she rigidly lived in.

Now at 25, she works in a bookstore owned by a man named Sutton or Captain as Jo calls him. Josephine loves books so much. When she was a teenager she would go to the library and the librarian would allow her to stay and read so that she could educate herself. Jo taught herself everything she needed to know and got her GED. Olivia Price was attracted to her younger sister's boyfriend since their first encounter, so when Claire breaks up with Camden leaving him alone on the street with his few possessions she decides to be his friend. Camden Walker is an artist, who doesn't like to talk about himself and his past. He has never had a friend so he doesn't know how to be a good friend with Olivia but it seems they share a connection. Will Olivia be able to breach in Camden's defenses? Or will she be the latest in a long line of people that betray him? Despite the pain that will inevitably ensue, she makes it her mission to discover what parts of her tragic puzzle she is missing. On her journey to discovering why she feels an alarming connection to an absolute stranger, her greatest fear is reawakening the demons and darkness from the past that will surely overtake her if she lets her guard down.I feel like my world is crumbling beneath my feet but Damon walks in and I have something to grab onto. It's frightening and comforting all in the same." Not only an extraordinary exploration of how an artwork is created but a devastating portrayal of what it means to means to struggle, to be human, to find hope. A darting, incredibly ambitious book which brings together the head and the heart. I am still ringing with the experience of reading it Camden Walker: Apartment 8C is an emotional, slow burn contemporary romance that can be read as a standalone. So Damon survives his suicide attempt but in surviving he becomes a man of no emotions and has stopped talking to anyone. He has sunk into a deep dark hole. Josephine has not forgiven herself for not allowing Damon to explain what happened the night of the accident. If she had only let him explain, her old Damon would be here instead of Zombie Damon. Lucas was a little better, mostly I liked that he had this bubble he entered when he was studying where he loses any sense of self-preservation or awareness of his environment. .

I ached for him and his past, what he endured, how he coped and how much he truly loves Jo. I also love Jo and I felt for her just as much. She is strong and determined. These two are a favorite couple of mine and the passion/love they share for one another is amazing. The need and desire they have speaks volumes. As interim sheriff with a woefully understaffed force, he doesn’t have time for Megan Gentry, the beautiful, big city stranger who just caused a traffic jam in the town square.

Aly Stiles’ storytelling has an uncanny ability to get right to my heart, a wide range of emotions. Like an explosion of colors, full of meaning when every color is closely associated with certain feelings and emotions. Well it resonated with me. Love takes trust I don’t have, not just because it won’t betray you, but in yourself. You need to believe there’s something worth loving to accept the possibility that another could find it.’ Aly's incredible talent as a writer amazes me more and more with each new book but she has truly outdone herself this time around. This book is so powerful, it is written with incredible depth and raw emotion, Aly has so obviously put her heart and soul into this masterpiece. I am totally in awe of the way in which she was able to convey how Camden was still haunted by the pain and horror of his past but refrained from going into detail, leaving readers to draw their own conclusions. When de Freston began making an artwork with Ali, a Syrian writer blinded by a bombing, The Raft's depiction of pain and suffering resonated powerfully with him, as did Gericault's awful life story. It spoke not only to Ali's story but to Tom's family history of trauma and anguish, offering him a passage out of the dark waters in which he found himself. Isla grew up having her entire life planned out for her but she wanted to break free from her father's hold and make her own decisions and her own choices. Caleb lived trapped in a home with his alcoholic father, haunted by nightmares of memories from his past. But instead of being completely wrong for each other, Isla and Caleb turned out to be the best things to ever come into each other's lives. They were two broken souls who had been through so much, both individually and together, just trying to rebuild the pieces from their shattered lives as they explored their perfectly imperfect relationship.
