Master Chief appears in Konami's Super Bomberman R as one of the three exclusive characters in the Xbox One version. He is known as Master Chief Bomber, a SPARTAN-II supersoldier from Planet Halo. He is a speed typed bomber and his special ability is the Spartan Shot.

The most important feature though, is the direct neural interface system which connects to a Spartan's neural implants. Two core processor chips are implanted into the subjects skull in the rear of the head. This is essentially comparable to an on board computer using parts of the human brain for processing - when the connector at the rear of the subject's head and receptors in the brain link to the helmets on board sensors it creates the neural link needed to move the MJOLNIR suit. [5] Until Halo 4, John-117's personality is explored more thoroughly in the books than in the games for gaming purposes, so that the gamer can incorporate their identity with John-117. This is because the 'John-117' character, in Fall of Reach, was Eric Nylund's (and is widely accepted as Bungie's) own personal creative stand in for John-117 character. Telling Tillson this caused her great distress, as she had dedicated herself to researching the Composer for a very long time. However, she still gave the Spartan her word that she would make sure the warheads were primed for a remote detonation. Apologizing, John once again asked for Tillson to begin the evacuation. The armor featured (clearly inspired by Halos MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor) is known as " Hal's Armor". In 2556, while still stranded in space, Cortana attempted to talk to John while he was still asleep. Unable to get a response from him, she recounted the history of the galaxy, seemingly unaware that John could not hear her, and showing major signs that she was descending into rampancy. The Sangheili were able to stop the Flood infestation by glassing the city and its surroundings, much to Hood's displeasure. [38] John's surname is consistently unknown. However, because his redacted name in the Eridanus II census record takes up less space than the surnames of Rolla Hedegaard and Hirayama Tatsuyuki, it can be determined that his surname is less than nine letters long.

The inner structure of the suit [35] is a layer of piezoelectric liquid crystal that deforms along a preferred axis when exposed to an electric charge. [14] This layer acts as a sheath or a suit of artificial muscle; this reactive piezoelectric effect increases the mobility, speed, and all-around physical performance of the suit's user, [14] doubling their strength and increasing the reaction time of the user by a multiple of five. The material is amorphous, which circumvents a major obstacle in its design: custom fitting millions of the polygonal pieces under the second armor layer. [9] Knitted together at a molecular level the liquid crystal material is merely "poured" into a multilayered Sierpinski capillary system where microelectric fields can direct crystallization geometries. [9] The only downfall is the material's production, which involves classified super-toxic precursor materials and requires a zero-gravity environment. His upgraded GEN3 suit displays the characters "117" on the left of the breastplate. [163] In this suit, John has upgraded capabilities, particularly after taking modules from the armor of dead Spartan-IV's that he encounters. Unlike previous iterations of his armor, John's GEN3 armor possesses holographic emitters in the palm of his left hand, allowing John to display the Weapon's avatar to communicate face to face with the AI, transfer her into computer systems, or interact with others around him. John's leadership skills were correctly observed: the result from their mission clearly solidified his role as the overall leader of the Spartan-IIs. He also became the established leader of the Spartan-II Blue Team. Before Dr. Halsey initiated Project MJOLNIR, the UNSC Navy had developed various designs and prototypes for powered exoskeletons and armour systems, including the Mark I exoskeleton, [16] the Mark III exoskeleton, [17] ORION armor, [18] and HRUNTING Mark I. [11] Halsey reviewed this previous work during the early stages of planning for Project: MJOLNIR, but ultimately chose to start from scratch, due to limitations with the previous antiquated designs. [11] [16]Initiated in 2515, the Mark I took a significant amount of time to develop, [5] [Note 1] but was bulky, unwieldy and needed to be tethered to a power source due to the tremendous amount of energy needed to power it. This caused the system's downfall, as it required a physical connection to a fusion generator at all times when operated. The Mark I contained a cutting-edge onboard computer that could assist the wearer by transmitting tactical and communications information to the standard neural implant issued to a soldier, though the suit did not possess the ability to carry an AI. A further scan resulted in positive readings from all enemy vessels from which John deduced that Catherine was held on the Covenant flagship at the heart of the fleet. The Spartans then successfully fought their way through the Covenant's Seraph formations, and sheared through the massive vessel's hangar bay energy shields with a large barrage of explosive ordnance, gauss cannon rounds, and their own Booster Frame's as projectiles to infiltrate the Covenant CAS-class assault carrier, the Resplendent Fervor. Upon entry John, Kelly and Fred protected themselves with a Bubble Shield. The clearing smoke revealed surrounding Covenant forces in the hangar bay. [21]
