Papier-mâché gap filling is best suited to areas under furnishing, rugs or carpets where it won’t be visible, if you do choose to use this method throughout the room then make sure to push the papier-mâché right to the bottom of the gap to remove it from sight.

The floor will still be able to move, and as the floor will not be sealed to the wall, air will be able to get to the back of the skirtings from the under floor ventialtion, which is arguably good if you are not totally confident in the dryness of the wall. Please note: StopGap is not suitable for tongue and groove boards due to the shape of the gaps in this type of flooring. I think ply is worthwhile if you are putting down vinyl flooring or "lino" otherwise the edge board and gaps will cause wear lines.
